School's over for the year and it feels really weird. It'd probably be a hell of a lot weirder if I was graduating though.

Anyway, I thought I'd post some pictures from the past semester! I have a problem of waiting months and months to edit pictures, so I'm going to try to do more photo posts from now on.

I'm burnin' up, burnin' up, for you baby! )

No big photo post because I decided to alter a skirt instead. I'll leave you with a picture of my new hair and some super cute pictures of my little sister Rebecca in lolita!

Magical balloons require invisible strings )

Aaaand, here's a picture of my new hair color!!

It's a lot more subtle in normal lighting but it's pretty bright in the sun. I'm surprised how easily it dyed the black parts of my hair too [which is everything from my roots to about my eyes]. It's slightly more purple in real life, but it's seriously the most awesome shade of burgundy!

It is currently 4:44 AM. I'm supposed to be writing an essay for my Chinese Language and Culture class that's due today at 1:00 PM but instead, I'm watching The Outer Limits and posting on LJ. I FAIL. My essay is only supposed to be 2 pages [3 at the most], but it's on two topics I'm completely clueless about. I want to have at least one of the topics finished by the time I get to school, but I can't seem to bring myself to even start this damned paper. :(

In other more exciting news, I dyed my hair! It's now "burgundy wine" and I LOVE it. I just dyed it over my existing hair color so it's not super OTT bright or anything, but it's still noticeable and completely gorgeous. I'll post pictures later tonight if I don't fall asleep first.

I'll probably do a big collective photo dump actually.

Yeah, okay. Now the essay.

If you ever have some kind of meal with me, please refrain from committing the following crimes:
1. Chewing with your mouth open. No, I do not like "seefood."
2. Smack your mouth when you are chewing. Some guy was just doing it [LOUDLY] next to me and I wanted to punch him really hard. I could hear him even when the volume on my iPod was half way up.
3. Eat really crunchy food next to me. Ugh.

Seriously, they sound like such stupid things, but all three of them REALLY bother me. I mean, to the point where my stomach starts to hurt because I'm so annoyed. SUCKS FOR ME though because CHINESE PEOPLE LOVE TO DO ALL THREE.

That's really all I wanted to say.

my sister is getting married on the rachael ray show. on sunday. in minute maid park. with 100+ other couples. wut.

thanks a lot, bella tarrazza.

it's so silly that not even her soon-to-be-husband's parents are going.

she's still having a real wedding in march, but still. this is so ridiculous.

THE RACHAEL RAY SHOW. geez.

on another note, i hate architecture right now.

that's all.

i got out of work three and a half hours early! hurray!

now i have three and a half hours to do important stuff. like post on lj. haha.

i'm probably going to write a lot of useless stuff that will include dark knight spoilers [they'll be in white font so you can read everything else] so i'm cutting this.

starting now )

AHHHHHHHH, these are so cute! i just got the gloomy bear charms [and the colored chains] in the mail today and i'm so in love with them!! i have them in blue, pink, yellow, and white! i couldn't help but add the bow and rhinestones since gloomy looked kind of...lonely. i made the blue one here for my little sister, the pink one's mine, and i gave a yellow one to my other sister. i have five more that i plan on selling, but more about that later.

that's it, really. i just wanted to share! xD

so my summer = more time = more lj theory obviously proved to be incorrect. big surprise.

i've actually been super busy, which is good because summer usually gets pretty boring FAST.

here's the short update:

01. i'm working at a bookstore at UH monday and wednesday. i love it.

02. i'm moving! well, kind of. my uncle is moving to the memorial area but he still wants to hang on to his old house so my family's moving in. we're going to be doing renovations to OUR house this year [we're not sure if we're going to sell or stay afterwards] so having another place to stay is pretty convenient. i really don't like my uncle's house or location [it's about 7 minutes away from my house] or the fact that my room and closet are tiny, but my mom LOVES it because it's on a golf course and his living room windows face the TINY pond. BUT we're doing furniture shopping right now [we're getting rid of our old couches and tables] and it's FANTASTIC. I LOVE FURNITURE. so...yes. we're moving in a couple of weeks.

03. i'm re-teaching myself how to play the guitar! i started watching instant star a while ago because i love television programming that is aimed at 15-year olds, and i was inspired by the main character to start playing again! i'd really like to be able to play well enough to put music to my lyrics... i'm thinking of buying an acoustic guitar meant for girls since my hands are so abnormally small and nailing chords is super hard, but my recent lolita obsession revival is making it difficult to save money.

04. i don't remember if i've already said it or not, but my sister's getting married! about 5 months ago, her fiancé [is there another e here?] called my mom before he and my sister went to paris to ask for her blessing, and he proposed to her in the park next to the eiffel tower!! SO cute! i'm really excited about her wedding [next spring] because i love planning big parties, but she hasn't even started looking for a dress yet and i'm getting really antsy. i'm also strangely excited to write a toast! it takes A LOT to make my sister cry, but i'm determined to make her happy-cry!

haha, "short." oh, me.

houston named best place to live.

yeah, yeah. good for the oldies but what about us young'uns?

and i thought this was really neat too! mr. prakash was AWESOME. he used to tell us that he had 20 rare coins that were worth $1 mil each. haha. sadly, all i remember from the 6 weeks i had in his class is [coincidentally] "namaste jii." looks like i need that textbook.

next post will be a large photo dump. seriously...huge.

i survived the first year of architecture, which is supposedly the hardest! yay for me!

also, i just received my acceptance letter for second year! another yay for me!!

i don't think i've ever been so excited about summer. ever. i seriously need this break from building crap. my body does too. it was really not enjoying all of those sleepless nights, or those x-acto blade cuts. i used a lot of band-aids this past school year. D:

um. i think that's all atm.

eat your veggies.

but it was just me fooling you!

mm, thought i'd put in a quick blurb since i've been away so long. i'm really, really, really enjoying my break from school! i think that the amount of time i slept all of last semester was equal to the amount of sleep i normally get in a month. in other words, not much. this semester should be better. i'm moving into an apartment on campus this weekend so i'm pretty excited [and STRESSED!!!!!!!] about that. i'm staying in a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment with two other girls from my studio. it should be...interesting. i don't particularly want to go back to school, but i miss my studiomates, and sleeping until 2pm every day can't be good for me.

anyway, i really just wanted to let you guys know about one man's mission to do something incredibly life-changing, that will hopefully pave the way for many of us....

yes, it is indeed living in IKEA for a week.

so go check it out.

oooh, and while i'm at it, when did the little weasley become hot? is it for harry p? despite the excessive photoshopping, she is too adorable. she looks like jenny lewis in the first picture, but it's hard to tell when she's lacking a nose.

hey, guys. i've been busybusybusy, but i'm in the studio by myself right now so i thought i'd do a quick post!

on thursday, i had my first real "lab" in my conceptual structural systems class. our goal was to create a brick wall w/ specific requirements [which i won't get in to], and i'm really happy with what our group came up with!

the really fantastic guy on the right was our mason, steven leonard! he taught us how to lay bricks and spread mortar. he was really encouraging and super-nice, and our wall would have been pretty shitty without him. our wall was definitely one of the best built, and we were extremely proud of it!

i also wanted to share these with you because they're really cute. one of the guys in my studio built domokun out of basswood [and painted it, obviously], and while a couple of us were looking through the other studios, we found the little park set [made out of color relief studies, foam core, and basswood!].

i have a ton of other things i want to show y'all but i don't have the pictures on my laptop yet. i should have them up soon!

I'm at: studio!
Listening to: the girl in the next studio over has been singing out loud for 2 hours.

please direct your attention to this post. it is full of LOLs. wtf, chris? why, why, why?

i am clearly extremely bored at work. i hate this place and the customers i have to help. if you make a purchase over $50, you get a free gift. we have different gifts for different price ranges, and one woman came in today and showed me her receipts [they're cumulative] which equaled $252. she can choose from like, 7 things with that much, but no. she wants one of the $350 gifts. apparently, the store manager told her it would be okay to give her that last time she came, but he and all of the other store managers were in a meeting. so i try to call him down to ask[i felt really stupid for interrupting the meeting for something so trivial] because the last time i gave someone the gift worth a few dollars over their spending amount, i was told not to [and $100 is a much bigger difference]. anyway, long story short, my supervisor came down instead, said no - tell her to come back next time she spends more instead, the woman would not leave me alone or shut up about how my manager said it was okay, and finally, i got so fed up with her i just got a cashier [who didn't seem to want to help her either] to take care of it. ONLY A CHINESE PERSON WOULD GO THROUGH THIS SHIT FOR 15 MINUTES TO GET A FREE GIFT. ugh. i wanted to bitch at her so badly. the worst part is...this isn't the first time something like this has happened. rantrantrant.

my frustration is not worth $6/hour. D:

i am pretty desperate to quit but my mom and grandmother insist that i stay here. i'll probably stay until the end of september [which will make it more than a full year of working here!] and then quit since school will probably be too much for me anyway.

speaking of which, i've never been so excited for school to start! yay!

i've already started my back-to-school shopping! i spent over $300 in the past week and i kind of hate myself but i honestly can't seem to curb my current online shopping obsession. my mom is getting pretty pissed at seeing so many packages being delivered since it obviously means i'm spending money. my style has changed a lot over the summer which is really annoying because now i don't want to wear 3/4 of the things in my closet and everything i want now is expensive. if it wasn't for the fact that i have a list of really expensive things i want to buy [several dress forms, a serger, a drawing tablet, power tools, a plane ticket to japan, etc.], i'd probably go to town with my money. but alas...

why have we figured out how to do face transplants but we STILL don't know how to make money grow on trees? lame.

for those of you who had tons of questions [like me] after book 7, the j.k. rowling chat transcript can be found here. it clears up a LOT of things and her answers are generally very amusing.

haha, i love how weird she is.

High School Musical 1 OST
Hannah Montana Season 1 OST

they're on sendspace, so you can only download one at a time. both are zipped files so you'll need winzip or a similar program.
